This is my Mom’s tree.  No matter what was going in our family, good or bad, or how tough we had it, we always had a tree and we always had good energy as a family Christmas morning.  My Mom always made sure of this, year after year.  I hope everyone is enjoying family, friends, and good energy today. 

So I have a confession:  I never met a pizza I didn’t like.  Well, that’s not true, but for the most part, pizza is one of my most favorite things on earth.  Lately, David and I have been searching out quick, easy, and cheap meals during the week that don’t require us to do dishes or cook.  We passed by a Domino’s a month or so ago and we decided to pick up one of their medium pepperoni’s for only $3.99; it was late and we figured at $4 if it sucked it was no big loss.  I was super impressed and we’ve probably been back at least three more times in as many weeks.  The crust is thick and doughy, there’s plenty of cheese and pepperoni, and they have this garlic/butter/seasoned salt thing going on around the crust that sure is yummy.  You can upgrade to a large for only a dollar more and in this economy, dinner for two for less than $6 is an awesome thing.  Especially if you have a couple slices left over the next day for lunch at work.

Amazing.  Outstanding.  Well done.  These are just a few of the words and phrases that I think of after taking in the phenomenal Avatar over the weekend.  I really, really liked this movie!  The story is well written, the acting is solid, and the special effects are simply to die for.  The battle scenes are well choreographed and rich with action and authenticity.  To be honest, I haven’t seen this level of epic since Attack of the Clones or the third installment of Lord of the Rings.  I really wasn’t looking forward to this movie at all, it was David’s pick, but wow I’m glad I saw it.  If you need a break or want something fun to do over your holiday vacation take in Avatar.  It’s well worth it and a great way to spend an afternoon or evening.

So I came across this site today while cleaning out an old email inbox.  It’s a way cool site and I had forgotten all about it until now.  I’ve gotten a lot of grief over my tenure as a gay man about liking or caring about professional sports.  Blek.  I don’t feel like ranting or raving about some gay men’s narrow view of what it means to be gay.  Let’s just say I was a part-time athlete in high school and I enjoy all types of sports whether I’m playing them or watching them; even today.  Hats off to a great site that highlights, among other things, GAY althletes.  Let’s hear for education, awareness, and visibility!
